Trivia[]

  • Vought+ is a parody of Disney+, Paramount+, HBO Max, and various other streaming services.
  • The Vought+ platform is a humorous riposte on the increasing number of streaming services available today. It plays on the notion that with so many options for content, consumers may feel overwhelmed by choices or frustrated with the cost of subscribing to multiple platforms. The Vought+ parody suggests a service that offers viewers a curated selection of content from various platforms - all in one convenient location - for a lower price. It's a commentary on the growing trend of media consolidation and the increasing presence of corporate control over popular culture.
  • The renaming of Vought++ to Vought+ is a clever dig at the recent shifts in the streaming industry. It can be seen as a commentary on the changes that have been made in HBO Max in the past year. These changes have included canceling dozens of projects that were either near completion or had already been finished. Additionally, the decision to eliminate 35% of Vought++'s film projects also mirrors the shift towards cost-cutting that has been seen in some of the major streaming services. The renaming and restructuring of Vought++ plays on these real-world events and pokes fun at the rapid changes that can occur within the entertainment industry.
