Superheroes, better known as Supes or the Supers, are a race of mutated humans who possess extraordinary powers and inhuman abilities. These mutations are caused by Compound-V. According to Rayner, there are roughly two hundred thousand supes in the world[1].
History[]
Compound-V was created by Jonah Vogelbaum, and was originally meant to be a super-soldier syrum for Nazi Germany. The first supe was Stormfront, a young german boy. Some time before the Battle of the Bulge, Vogelbaum would defect to the United States, and would create the Avenging Squad as Vought's first attempt to push supes in defence. A few years after the end of the war, Vought would release their replacements for the Avenging Squad, this time billing them as crime fighters, these would be the first of the many celebrity "heros" which would come to define Vought's business model.
After Homelander's failed coup, were hundreds and possibly thousands of supes died, most supes went into hiding.
Characteristics[]
Most supes are born from parents with V altered DNA, wether this be from being a supe themselves or just having come into contact with it. The majority of supes seem to be only as durable as normal humans, or at least not bulletproof. Flight seems to be a rather common power, with almost every member of The Seven possessing it.
