Shout Out is a minor antagonist in the controversial comic book series The Boys. He is a superhero and member of the corrupt team Teenage Kix.
History[]
Shout Out is one of the many people who had been exposed to Compound V as kids and developed superpowers as a consequence. Still a teenager, he joined the superhero team Teenage Kix.
As a public figure, he appeared as a hero; in his private life, he could not care less about doing something good with his powers. He indulged in all sorts of vices, from drug abuse to massive orgies with his teammates. Secretly bisexual (as much as the group was supposed to be “dark and modern”, bisexuality would have still taken some audience appeal from his character), he was a sexual partner to team leader Big Game.
Someone had been taken pictures of the Teenage Kix in intimate moments, documenting their illegal and sick perversions, and threatened to make everything public if one of them did not admit in front of the world their “private shame”. Shout Out did not manage to keep his vices secret, as he was voted by everyone to be outed as gay and ended up taking a leave of absence from Teenage Kix.
A secret informer, then, revealed the identity of the blackmailer to the Teenage Kix: The Boys. Knowing the identity of his attackers, Shout Out followed his former team on the streets to confront The Boys openly. In the ensuing skirmish, Shout Out chose Hughie Campbell as an opponent and also attacked Frenchie, but was interrupted by Billy Butcher, who grabbed him by his genitals. While trying to escape, he shot a lightning beam at Butcher's face, who retaliated by angrily ripping off both of his thumbs. His last appearance was in former fellow teammate Blarney Cock's funeral, with both arms on casts.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Flight: Shout Out is able to fly.
- Electrokinesis: Shout Out can manipulate electrical energy to an unknown extent, being able to generate lightning beams to attack his foes.
