Season Summary[]
The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca's son and the rest of The Boys are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.[1]

- Eric Kripke confirmed in July 2022 that Nathan Mitchell would portray a replacement Black Noir in season 4; describing the character as a "whole new" and "really interesting and hilarious character."
- Figuring out a way to save Ryan’s soul is a key priority for Butcher in season 4, with Kripke saying it’s like Kramer v. Kramer combined with Avengers: Endgame.
- Furthermore, the Boys' other priorities are to take down Victoria Neuman, who advanced her political career after being picked by US President Candidate Robert Singer as his Vice Presidential Candidate, as well as finding a way to kill Homelander once and for all.
- Eric Kripke said that Gen V would tie into the events of Season 3, later feeding into Season 4.
- Season 4 takes place a few months after Gen V season 1.
- This season introduced multiple new Supes, including Firecracker, Sister Sage, Black Noir II, Splinter, Webweaver, Laddio, and the Shapeshifter Supe.
