Popclaw is a minor antagonist in the controversial comic book series The Boys. She is a superheroine and the sole female member of the corrupt superhero team Teenage Kix.
History[]
Popclaw is one of the many people who had been exposed to Compound V as kids and developed superpowers as a consequence. Still a teenager, she joined the superhero team Teenage Kix. At some point, Popclaw had a surgical enhancement, which might be related to the fact her claws seem to be either made of metal or coated with it.
As a public figure, she appeared as a goth heroine; in her private life, she was downright brutal with everyone, and could not care less about doing something good with her powers. She indulged in all sorts of vices, from drug abuse to massive orgies with her teammates. Secretly a lesbian (as much as the group was supposed to be “dark and modern”, homosexuality would have still taken some audience appeal from her character), she liked to watch regular women do perverted acts for her to masturbate on; she also indulged in self-mutilation and liked to cut her limbs using her claws.
Someone had been taken pictures of the Teenage Kix in intimate moments, documenting their illegal and sick perversions, and threatened to make everything public if one of them did not admit in front of the world their “private shame”. Popclaw managed to keep her fetishes secret, as Shout Out was voted by everyone to be outed as gay.
A secret informer, then, revealed the identity of the blackmailer to the Teenage Kix: The Boys. Knowing the identity of her attackers, Popclaw followed her team on the streets to confront The Boys openly. Popclaw herself had the Female as an adversary and was seriously injured as a result. Her last appearance was in fellow teammate Blarney Cock's funeral, sporting a bandaged face and a broken arm.

- Claw Retraction: Popclaw is able to extend a metal claw from each of her wrists to act as weapons, as well as retract them when not using them. According to Billy Butcher, Popclaw had surgical enhancements done at some point, which might suggest her claws were not originally metal-like and were coated with said substance instead.

- According to The Boys writer and co-creator Garth Ennis, he intended Popclaw to be a pastiche of Scandal Savage from DC Comics.
- Coincidentally, she has similarities to Marvel Comics characters like Wolverine and X-23.
- Popclaw is depicted to be a fan of The Cure: a rock band very famous for being associated with goths, This is hinted at due to a poster that appears in the background that has a picture of the bands front man, Robert Smith.
