Yeah. An' look, we were into some bad shit even before what happened with Mallory, an' I gotta tell you: I am about a million times happier with all that behind me. I think if I am gonna make a difference, I'm more comfortable doin' it on a smaller scale...
―Mother's Milk to Billy Butcher[src]

Mother's Milk was one of the original members of The Boys. He was a good friend of Billy Butcher, and gained much respect for and even created a friendship with Wee Hughie. He left the team to take care of his daughter as her mother was a drug addict, but later rejoined. His name is a reference to the fact that he breastfeeds from his mother even as an adult.

Mother's Milk was the only member of The Boys and to be born with Compound V in his blood. His mentally handicapped brother also developed superpowers, expanding his bodily mass. However, he died moments after his powers manifested as his body and head continued expanding in size while he was wearing a helmet, crushing his skull. Mother's Milk's father then pursued legal action against Vought-American, but died after winning one court case.

After his father's death, he joined the military and became a heavyweight champion. During his championship, Mother's Milk discovered the powers afforded to him thanks to the Compound V — these included superhuman strength, agility, stamina and durability. Not long after accidentally using these powers to kill someone, he was approached by Billy Butcher and joined the Boys.

His nickname, Mother's Milk, comes from his dependence on his mother's breast milk, as he is unable to survive without periodically consuming it. Mother's Milk is an expert investigator thanks to his father's teachings, and it is through this skill that he mainly assists the Boys. He also struggles to maintain a relationship with his daughter Janine, but the two are able to rekindle their relationship by the end of the comic. Unfortunately, the Boys soon discover that Butcher plans on killing every single person that has ever been exposed to Compound V, so set about to stop him.

While the team is away, Butcher confronts Mother's Milk and offers him a chance to walk away. He refuses, and the two get into a fight, with Mother's Milk getting the upper hand. Butcher, however, critically injures him by detonating a grenade right next to Mother's Milk's face, and proceeds to finish him off by strangling him to death.

  • Superhuman Strength: As a result of his mother being exposed to large quantities of the enhancement drug Compound V, He was granted superhuman physical strength which allow him to casually injure and kill regular humans as well as superhumans. He was able to take on and kill Stormfront, one of the most powerful Supe in existence. He was also able to break Gunpowder's neck with one punch and throw Dogknott into Whack Job with no issue.
  • Intellect: He is an genius when it comes to not only tracking people down, but also when it comes to finding ways on who to take out Supes and what their powers are.
  • Enhanced Stamina: He has shown that he is able to fight for hours with fatigue. In a flashback he was able to take out hundreds of gangsters without sweating.
  • Slowed Aging: Mother's Milk appears to be in his 20s despite being in his late 40s.
  • Superhuman Durability: He is durable enough to take hits from powerful supes like Stormfront. He was also able to survive a point blank grenade explosion to the face.
  • Weapons Expert
  • Unarmed combat: Mother's Milk is a physically fit former boxer and United States Army Ranger later employed by the CIA.

  • Dependency: Despite his strength, Mother's Milk requires the regular consumption of his mother's Compound V-infused breast milk.

  • Mother's Milk is likely a parody of Marvel's Luke Cage, with both share the same similarities ; an African-American man with superhuman strength and durability powers.
