Malchemical is a minor antagonist in the Dynamite Entertainment adult comic book series The Boys. He was a highly arrogant and predatory elemental shapeshifter originally involved with Team Titanic (a third-rate superhero group comprised of washed up adult sidekicks), but was kicked out soon after Vought-American learned of Malchemical’s sexual misconduct with one of his fellow teammates and had him reassigned to Super Duper as their official leader, where he would soon mistreat and terrorize his new teammates in unimaginable ways.

Background[]

Although Malchemical's life before Team Titanic is elaborated on, it can be assumed that (as was the case with all members of his team) he was originally a teenage sidekick originally marketed to the youth demographic, but eventually became too old for this role and was essentially paired with other has-been Supes who didn't fit in with the company's more popular and lucrative teams. Due to the Compound-V injected into him while in the womb, Malchemical was born with the ability to alter his form, material and density in any way he chooses. He was also able to form metal objects (a bottle opener out of his thumb) as well as mimic other people, the later pf which he abused for rather disturbing purposes.

During one particularly heinous incident, Malchemical used his power to impersonate Team Titanic leader Jimmy the One for the purposes of having anal sex with the Starlike, Jimmy's girlfriend, and was ousted from the team soon after it came to light. As part of Vought's punishment for Malchemical, he was forced to become the leader of Super Duper, a team of young superheroes with either dysfunctional or useless powers based in the suburbs of New Jersey. Upon joining Super Duper, Malchemical showed his true anti-social tendencies by immediately taking to mocking his new teammates. Malchemical sees Super Duper as a subpar group of heroes, referring to them as mentally stupid, and even constantly finding humor in Klanker's tourette outbursts. Team member Auntie Sis reported to Vought-American that Malchemical is unwanted, drawing his ire as he is on probation and can't afford the bad publicity.

To get back at Auntie Sis for reporting him, Malchemical shapeshifts into another team member, Bobby Badoing, to have Auntie Sis confide in him about what makes her scared. Later on, he uses this information to attack her while threatening the other members of the team, even going as far as trying to rape Ladyfold and Stool Shadow. Hughie, who is on surveillance duty, hears all of this going on and ends up coming into the house and confronting Malchemical. The two get in a fight with Hughie losing badly, at which point Butcher comes in to save Hughie and defeats Malchemical by setting him on fire while he was in gas form.

Powers[]

  • Shapeshifting: Malchemical has the ability to turn into anyone and any element. This is shown when he shapeshifts into another team member, Bobby Badoing, to have Auntie Sis confide in him about what makes her scared.

Weakness[]

  • Fire: He is vulnerable to fire when in his gas form. This is shown when Butcher comes in and saves Hughie and kills Malchemical by setting him on fire while he was in gas form.

Trivia[]

  • He is a parody of DC Comics' Metamorpho, as they are both elemental shapeshifters.
