Think about it. This is par for the course with you. When have you ever done anything remotely interesting or original? What have you thought of to do that the lowest speck of this pointless species couldn't, were they to be granted your level of power? And what next, destroy another airliner? Dismember more families, that kind of thing? A spoiled child's personal Auschwitz. It's so petty it's actually quite embarrassing.
―James Stillwell insulting Homelander for his actions.

James Stillwell is the overarching antagonist of the comic series The Boys. He is a high-ranking executive in Vought-American and the assistant of Vought's CEO, Mr. Edgar.

James Stillwell attended The Seven's meetings and is described to be worse than them for his coldblooded plans to save Vought-American's image. Some of these plans were the G-teams massacre, Pre-Wiz locked in a container and thrown in the ocean, telling Payback to attack the Boys, and involving himself in the takeover of the White House. He became Mr. Edgar's assistant at a young age, which helped his career. Stillwell has had many conflicts with the Homelander. Once the superhero sent him a whore to distract him while the Supie Awards was carried out during Herogasm. He is brilliant at planning and had met Little Nina in Russia to discuss the supes that had exploding heads. His only human moments are when he starts to relax around Jessica Bradley and when he aided the Frenchman.

He's very cold during critical situations even when an insane Homelander expressed the wish to kill him and stated that Stillwell is the real superhuman. James asked the madman to let him commit suicide and avoid all the carnage to come but Homelander told him to keep watching alive.

However, due to his nature as a perfectionist, it would ultimately lead to his downfall, as he is inspecting the new superhero team following the fall of The Seven, he realizes Compound V is an imperfect product (when he notes one of the members having an erection, meaning drug withdrawal) and begins to breakdown, embarrassed by his company's incompetence. He is last seen wandering around a pineapple plantation and quoting Adam Smith, having lost his mind.
