Godolkin University, also simply referred to as God U, is a location in the Amazon series Gen V, a spin-off series of The Boys. It is a university founded by Thomas Godolkin and Frederick Vought, dedicated to teaching young Supes to be heroes.
History[]
Godolkin University was founded in 1965 by Thomas Godolkin, a behavioral psychologist. He created the school as a front to study superheroes and learn the reasons for their motivations and behaviors. It is attended by super-powered students who learn and train to be superheroes for four years.
The education at God U is eerily similar to the Division I college sports programs that serve as the gateway to professional sports careers in the United States. The young supes are constantly pitted against each other, put under pressure and build up their brands on the side, all in the hopes of being one of the few to eventually get drafted into a superhero team. And just like in college sports, there's no shortage of scandals, from students getting killed or maimed to the university covering up the crimes of their stars.
Their training leads up to the annual "Vought Hero Draft," where once a year, the best and brightest young supes compete for Vought International contracts to protect America's major cities. Godolkin students Queen Maeve, A-Train, and the Deep were famously drafted by New York City to join the Seven. In 2022, the cities up for grabs include Miami, Cleveland and Los Angeles.
In September 2022, Vought International announced that the university's student union and dorm rooms will be redesigned via generous contributions from donors. The newly redesigned student union includes an on campus Vought-A-Burger and Jitter Bean cafe.
Godolkin University is one of several Vought-affiliated sponsors that backed the Singer-Neuman Election Campaign.[1]

Trivia[]
- The university shares the same name as John Godolkin, who appears in The Boys comics series as the leader of the G-Men.
- As of now, God U isn't connected to the G-Men (who are confirmed to exist within the show's universe) and the namesake of the school, John Godolkin, is nowhere to be seen in the series.
- It is a parody of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters from Marvel Comics, as both institutions are learning institutions for superhumans. However, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters takes in child mutants of all age groups as opposed to Godolkin University, which is a learning institution for adolescent and young adult supes. Furthermore, Godolkin University has far more insidious intentions it comes to its students, as one of the secret purposes of the school is to study and experiment on Supes to learn how to control them, whereas the mission of Xavier's School was to simply teach mutants how to control their powers and defend themselves.
- The most common abbreviation for the university in the series is "God U"; this may serve to reinforce the "A God Am I" attitude several older supes, namely Homelander, possess.
- The university's crimefighting school is named after the late Lamplighter.
- The university's performing arts school is named after the late Crimson Countess.
- The university's website, godolkinu.com redirects to the Boys main Amazon page.
- According to the Boys main Twitter page, tuition starts at $70,000 per year, and keeps rising.
