Elena is a recurring character in the Amazon series The Boys. She is Queen Maeve's girlfriend.

The Boys Series[]

Elena was Queen Maeve’s ex-girlfriend, as she has been left by her when Maeve started seeing Homelander.

Maeve visits her in season 1, episode 5 in order to tell her about the plane and because she was looking for a hookup, however Elena tells her to leave.

When Elena’s appendix burst, Maeve immediately rushes to the hospital and the two start to rekindle their relationship. Maeve reveals to her that she's afraid of Homelander killing Elena.

Maeve and Elena’s “relationship” is eventually discovered by Homelander, who then reveals it on live television, effectively outing Maeve and also using Elena’s Hispanic heritage to successfully leverage a cheap PR boost for him and the Seven’s image with the LGBTQ+ community.

In episode 5 of season 2, Vought attempts to market Elena and Maeve’s relationship, but Elena opposes being depicted as a “lesbian Ken-doll” and to the idea of a public relationship. She also reveals that Maeve is actually bisexual.

Elena later learns the truth about the Transoceanic Flight 37 tragedy that Maeve and Homelander had been involved in, by discovering video footage on Maeve’s phone. As she is traumatised by what happened, as well as Maeve’s strength, Elena leaves Maeve because she needs some time for herself.

By the end of season 3, Elena is reunited with Maeve, who faked her own death after having her Compound V burnt out of her by Soldier Boy (unknowingly with help from Ashley Barrett at Vought, who saw Maeve being rescued by Mother's Milk and Kimiko through Vought Tower surveillance footage and then deleted it). This allows Elena and Maeve to live together in peace, far away from Homelander.

Relationships[]

  • Maeve is Elena’s girlfriend. They broke up in the past because Maeve moved on to Homelander and eventually rekindled their relationship. However, they broke up again because of the footage of the plane-video, with Elena saying she needed some time. By the end of season 3, with Maeve having faked her death after fighting both Homelander and then being depowered by Soldier Boy, she and Elena intend to live together in obscurity, seriously considering rural farm life.

Trivia[]

  • Elena is a character exclusive to the television series.
  • She is bisexual, having relationships with both men and Elena.
  • When in the hospital bed, her appendix is treated as if it is on her left side. But in reality, an appendix is on your right side unless you have Situs Inversus, which might be possible with Elena but was never specifically mentioned.
