El Diablo is supposedly a cartel member that received a dose of Compound V from A-Train as part of Homelander’s conspiracy to manufacture a global supervillain threat, which he used to gain superpowers. It is likely that he was made up by Vought to romanticize Translucent's death, as well as to obscure the dubious and less than heroic circumstances surrounding his demise.
Season Two[]
El Diablo is falsely framed as the one responsible for Translucent's death. His name is mentioned by Homelander during the funeral of the invisible hero.
